World Environment Day celebrated on 5th June every year is a day dedicated to earth and nature. It is celebrated every year to raise global awareness and take some environmental supporting actions for nature and our planet. World Environmental Day also known as WED is one of the biggest events from years. It was instituted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972. They started celebrating it as an event on 5th June since 1973.
The aim of this event is to save our planet earth and our environment. It is an event which is introduced to aware people about the role & importance of environment in our life. We exist because of our nature. It is impossible to breathe or make a living without nature.
As We people are living on the planet Earth, and using its resources to make our living. We all are responsible to take care of the planet. It is our moral duty to protect the nature and also conserve the resources for the next generations. For a better today and tomorrow it is essential. A number of actions should be taken to preserve the environment. World Environment Day is the opportunity to develop awareness among people in both rural and urban regions.
At the event of World Environment Day, it is our job to celebrate this day in different ways. Conducting art & crafts exhibitions, competitions, demo activities, festivals, drama and poetry can help spreading the message. Social world is very dominating nowadays; it could be the major network to the aware the world.
The World Environment Day was first celebrated by United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) & United Nations General Assembly to be celebrated every year by conducting some effective campaigns at the conference on conference on Human Environment started from 5th to 16th of June at United Nations in 1972.
Our Planet Earth is facing a number of major environmental issues today, some of those are Air Pollution, Poor management of Waste, Water scarcity, falling groundwater tables, Water Pollution, Preservation and quality of forests, biodiversity loss, and land/soil degradation. Today we are facing the issue of water scarcity at a higher level in India and other countries. It’s the time to save our natural resources and protect and conserve them for future generations.
Lastly but not the least, Youngsters and children should be made aware of the national issues like environment problems so that they will take the responsibility and will contribute for the act. If nature is alive we can live.
